Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing refers to reporting/“blowing the whistle” if there is, will be or has been any form of serious misconduct within the Bio-Works operations such as may cause great harm to Bio-Works and/or its stakeholders.

Investors or shareholders can blow the whistle in case there is serious misconduct within the Bio-Works operations. The individuals motive for blowing the whistle is irrelevant.

Serious misconduct refers to, for example, criminal activity with imprisonment on the penalty scale or thereby comparable irregularities. It is sufficient that the individual through the whistleblowing raises concrete suspicions about such serious misconduct.

Courses of action that is not punishable by law can also be considered as serious misconduct. It can for example be serious cases of discrimination, bullying, harassment, violations of fundamental freedoms and human rights, corruption, failure to comply with applicable regulations and serious damage or risk of serious damage to the environment.

The whistleblowing refers to all malfunctions within Bio-Works operations. This does therefore not only apply to work processes, production, specific tasks and/or business relationships. It also applies to, for example, how all rules and regulations are followed, issues that concern the relationship between the employer and the employees and other situations where there is a connection to the company, for example if a crime is committed inside Bio-Works facilities.

What is the procedure for whistleblowing?

To ensure anonymity, the reporting tool is provided by an external and independent actor, AlexisHR. The reporting channel is encrypted, and password protected. You never have to reveal your identity if you do not want to.

The Bio-Works whistleblower tool is accessible via the following home page: https://whistle.alexishr.com/report/bio-works

Once you have completed your report, you will receive a code that you should save to follow up on your case. Log in regularly as investigators may need to ask you additional questions and, in some cases, want to act as quickly as possible.

As the person reporting via the system, you can choose whether you want to provide your contact information or if you want to remain anonymous. Regardless, all reports are taken seriously and are investigated. If there is a need for deeper investigations that require more information, contact details can be requested. However, it is always completely optional to provide this information. The people within Bio-Works who has access to the received reports has a responsibility in their assignment to handle the alarm with a very high degree of discretion.

All data communication and storage of personal data is encrypted to prevent them from being distorted or coming to the knowledge of unauthorized persons.

What happens at Bio-Works when a report is received?
As soon as a report about serious malpractice is received, the whistleblower receives a confirmation that Bio-Works has received the report.

Immediately after Bio-Works has received a report, an analysis is made of the information entered by the whistleblower to determine if further investigation is required. The next step in the process is for Bio-Works to decide on further handling of the case and, if needed, implement decided and required measures.

To the extent that can be considered appropriate, Bio-Works regularly gives feedback to the whistleblower on how the case is being handled.
